Blah I’ve been so caught up with all of life’s flow that I haven’t posted anything in a while. This blog is starting to look like all my other blogs in the past; dead, forgotten, quite… but I’m determined for history not to repeat itself so I’m going to try my best to post all my latest work on here. Summer vacation is now over and now I’ve entered a more time consuming environment, college. I already know updating this blog is going to be difficult now more than ever, but I really want people to see what I’ve created and get feedback on what I’ve done. I want to further advance my mind and capabilities this semester, something I’ve been slacking on the past semesters because of old problematic habits.
Well anyways, this semester I’ve got a really interesting art class called ‘Concepts In Drawing’ taught by the very talented artist Nick Taggart and I’m really looking forward in seeing what I’ll produce in the upcoming weeks of school. Here’s a little information about the course.
Course activity: This course will entail developing a breadth of drawing skills and approaches during class time and at home. Students will refine and redefine concepts in drawing using a range of media. Studio work, discussions, slide and power point presentations, group critiques of projects, local gallery visits and reports make up the core of this course. Drawing is a disciplined activity, expect to devote several hours each week outside of class to complete the required course projects.
Student Learning Outcome: The student will be expected to demonstrate the ability to solve various intermediate drawing problems creatively, technically, materially, and conceptually.
The student will learn how to put a personal voice into drawing practices and apply creative critical thinking skills in class discussions, critiques and general art practices.
Sounds fun right? Well I’m excited. I’m going to make the effort to try and post all my classwork on the blog.
Here’s a little art for the post. Nothing too exciting, I was just wandering off in Trigonometry the other day and started drawing ‘where the wild things are’. Math can get so dull sometimes, or all the time for that matter.
